Crakemarsh Pool is about 2.5 acres in size and set in its own 8 acres of woodland, the fishery has got 2 car parks, the pool is about 5 ft at its deepest with an average of 4ft, There are 52 wellspaced pegs around the lake.

The main species of fish are Common and Mirror Carp, the fish range from 10-30lbs mostly round 15-25lbs but most of the fish are quite wily with very few multiple catches, the other 2 main species are Pike and Bream, pike from 4-20lbs are in good number with multiple catches possible (at this moment live baits are allowed but must be caught on the day), Bream are also in good number with some specimens over 10lbs. there is also some good Tench with some fish near 10lbs. Roach, Rudd and Perch are also stocked with some Perch to over 2.5lbs. For those who like a challenge there are also some Crucian Carp over 3lbs, not to be confused with the hybrid carp which can sometimes be over 6lbs.

Report from the bank 2022

As usual some good Carp are being caught up to 27lb + also some of the new stocks are showing. Nice to see anglers targeting Bream and catching fish up to 7lb+even in the day time, bags of Bream and Roach up to 60lb in a day on feeder tactics, also more reports of Tench been caught when targeting other species, some good bags of Roach Perch and Rudd are also being reported using light tactics. Pike have been caught on light spinning gear and live bait tactics. Pike to over 29lbs reported. 

 

Please note that extra work is been carried out around the pool this is mainly strimming pegs and pathways and general tidying please assist the team by allowing access to the pathways as the work is done voluntarily and there need to look after 3 other waters and therefore will not be able to return for  four weeks

 

Matches on Crakemarsh are to be held on Sunday the 14th of August and the 4th of September.

Please note the pool is closed to all fishing from the night before the match until after the weigh in at 3.30pm.
