Heronmarsh Pool is about 1 acre in size with 2 islands, there are 30 well spaced pegs around the pool. The pool is about 5-6 ft at its deepest with most of it 4ft deep.

This pool is stocked mainly with carp from 3 to 8lb with some of the older fish up to 19lb. Bream, between 2 to 5lb but some of the old stock are 8lb, There is also pike mainly small fish but with some up to 20lb+. The pool is also stocked with Tench, Barbel,  Chub, Roach, Rudd and Perch. Due to problems with weed over the past 3 years this pool as not been fished often but the club as removed most of the weed(2015) and we would hope that the pool is used more often in the future. Please note that the car park is shared with the Rudyard Light Railway and therefore at peak times it can be full, so its best to go early or go in the evening which is the best time to go anyway,

This pool is going from strength to strength with Carp being caught up to 19lb and multipule catches of fish up to 20 fish in a day also the Bream are showing well again with some anglers catching 10 to 15 fish in a day, there are plenty of Roach and Rudd showing as well when fishing with maggots,

 

Please note that a few rods and reels have been dragged in by the Carp. It only takes a lack of concentration for a short while and its gone. 

 

Matches are to be held on 20th of June and 18th of July please note that all the pegs are closed for the matches.
